Get to Know our Founder: David Schottenstein in 614 Magazine.

Two rabbis walk into a clothier …

It’s not the beginning of a joke, but rather a typical moment in the hectic life of 27-year-old David Schottenstein.

The rabbis are no doubt there to chat with the always-philanthropic Orthodox Jew, who in six short years has turned his custom Astor & Black suits into some of the most in-demand clothing in the country. But, locking down the savvy businessman is going to be tough on this day; I wait patiently in the conference room for Schottenstein, who appears apologetically from a conference call that has spilled over into our interview time.

By the time we’re done speaking, it’s easy to figure out how the sand in the hourglass sifts much faster for Schottenstein. The Bexley business wunderkind was able to unfetter himself to sit down with (614) to reveal how he’s trained himself to sequester the iPhone in his wife’s purse after work hours are through, the massive roster of NFL clients his team serves every day, along with his plans to open an Astor & Black in Tel Aviv. Schottenstein has plenty of irons in the fire, but still enough flame to go around.

You collect my name and email info on facebook by promising a free t-shirt–then you keep me on your list and simply say you “ran out” of t-shirts? Does that mean more t-shirts cannot be manufactured to fulfill your promise? Shame on you for such deceptive and unprofessional tactics! And your “special” offer to replace the t-shirt–just buy a suit and get a couple shirts free is also very insulting. It is in no way as “special” as the offer you used to lure people to sign up for your list. Please remove any and all information you collected from my signup immediately from your system, and do not every contact me again. You have guaranteed by such unscrupulous tactics that I will never be a customer, and nobody I know and can share this with will be a customer of yours either. Shame on you for such dishonesty and deceptiveness. If you were a quality commpany, you would’ve simply made more t-shirts to fulfill your promiseS, instead of breaking your promise by simply saying you ran out then offering such a lame “replacement” offer, but still conveniently keeping me on you email spam list. Shame on you and your company! Very poor business practices and I hope people vow not to order from you for such deceptive business practices!

I would rather see a deer head on a wall than all over the highway after being hit by a semi. Plus, did you ever think he might actually enjoy venison for meals.

As a animal lover and a customer of A&B i find it very disturbing that you would be so proud to team up with a dead stuffed deer to promo your business.
